Day 1
Imlil to the Toubkal Refuge
Drive 90 minutes from Marrakech to Imlil (1,740m), the trailhead village below Toubkal. Trek up the Mizane valley past Aroumd and the Sidi Chamharouch shrine to the Toubkal refuges (3,207m), gaining around 1,450m over 5–6 hours. Acclimatise, eat early and sleep before the climb.

Day 2
Summit day and return to Marrakech
A headtorch start around 5am up the south cirque scree (about 3–4 hours, +960m) to the 4,167m summit for sunrise over the Atlas and the Sahara haze. Descend all the way to Imlil, then transfer back to Marrakech by evening.

- This is a serious high-altitude trek — roughly 2,400m of total ascent and a 4,167m summit — so good fitness matters more than technical skill.
- From May to October it is a walk on scree and rock; in winter (Nov–Apr) you need crampons and an ice axe.
- Mules carry the heavy kit to the refuge, so you walk with just a day-pack and water.
